A cute little raccoon that dreams of being an an owl.

This is a digital remix of some of my “raccoonbear” illustrations, my “glamorous parakeet” illustration, and some new tweaks. Its creation was (as well as a few other new pieces you can find up on my Flickr account) inspired by a collaboration started on hitRECord.

I joined hitRECord.org back in June, but only recently found a little free time between classes to jump into the fun. The site and its reMIX community (a collaborative production company) are incredibly inspiring and creatively-addictive. Oh, if only I had more time!

I posted my first reRECord yesterday, which is a reMix of other members RECords (which is what they call the contributed resources: artwork, music, text, etc.) and I had a blast making it. I used 4 other members’ (MadameHarlequinMonstah, wirrow, itsbia, and annejumps) RECords to create a reRECord that I like to call, “Imagine where we can go from here!” I look forward to seeing the communities’ responses and reRECs for it, and I am itching to dive into creating more.

As for my RECords, I have released to the hitRECord collaborative production company: my Deer Scracthboard Cut-outs, some of my silly Monster ideas/sketches, and some music tracks from an old recording project, attune (circa 2004-5) and I cannot wait to see what this reMIX collaborative does with my RECords. So exciting!

My student short, “cat WACO” was accepted into Stop Motion Magazine Film Festival 2011, which is being held at the Echo Park Film Center on October 7th 2011 @ 8pm.

This will be its Public Primere! 

I wish I could be there to see everyone’s responses in-person but, alas, the travel/time/money is out of the question for me currently. I hope everyone enjoys it. If you are able to go, please comment on this post with your thoughts, good and/or bad. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you.

Cat Waco is done!

I need to get a few things in line before I can share with the internets, but Cat Waco is done, and coming your way soon – Whoop whoop!

[UPDATE: I spoke too soon on the Sharing-front. I cannot post the video up on the Webs just yet. The short might be featured in an upcoming Film Fest with restrictions about having the video available to public just yet. Stay tuned. ]

I will be finishing up, and sharing, some pretty exciting personal creations by the end of May.

Nick is finishing up years of work, his research and will be graduating with his Masters Degree in May. I am so proud of him. And I am wrapping up some pretty huge art projects (I’d say more, but I want it all to be a surprise) by mid-May as well.

We’re both so close to being done. So close to the end. So close to being free… May is going to be magical, be ready for us!
